Q and A about Prenup
BRIDALBOOK: Should the couple bring an inspiration/peg for their prenup? Why?
MPP: After their confirmed booking for their wedding day, our next agenda is to set the prenup date and finalize the concept, theme and location for their prenup pictorial. If the client chooses to hire a prenup/fashion stylist, then our work is easier because its basically their job to help the client trim down their ideas in mind and give them suggestions to the location that will fit their concept or theme. Its going to be a teamwork for me, the make up artist, the prenup stylist and ofcourse the couple. On the other hand, if the couple chooses not to have a stylist, then I ask them to email me atleast 10 photo inspirations from the internet so I can have an idea of what they like, what they find beautiful and their interests. The photos will serve as a visual sample of what they want in their pictorial to look like and from there, I can have an idea of what type of shoot they like, what locations that can fit their concept, what clothes they need to prepare, and what approach I will do so they can be comfortable. Since prenup themes are very broad and there are hundreds of ideas to choose from, having visual inspirations can help us start somewhere. It is also a plus factor that their prenup is within their personality because it will help them be comfortable in the shoot. This is very important for me, I always consider what my couples want and their vision. It’s a team effort and you should always learn how to listen and learn from it also and execute it through your own artistry.
BRIDALBOOK: What are your tips for couples who don’t know how to pose?
MPP: As I said, its very important for the couple to be comfortable with the shoot. It starts from there, believe me, once you are comfortable with what you are doing, the poses come out naturally, effortless and beautiful. Another tip is to always trust your photographer, trusting us give us the confidence and push to make it even more beautiful.
BRIDALBOOK: What’s your style in taking prenup shoots?
MPP: My style is very natural. I love shooting in daylights and I make use of the available light and position my couples in a way that will enhance their beauty. I make sure that I radiate fun and positivity in the shoot because it will help them be comfortable with me and wont feel awkward. For me its very refreshing to see photos that are very light, not too heavy posing, and not too much photoshopped. After all, my work is really to show the love of my couples through my photos.
